Data Lab
The Moore School's new initiative to help students engage with data.
The DMSB Data Lab is a vital resource to provide experiential learning and to support data driven student projects for the 6,000 DMSB students, who are required to complete projects to analyze real-world business data. The Data Lab functions as a virtual hub assisting these students with their data projects and promoting data literacy and providing basic training on the use of R to analyze data. The students will gain experiential learning, often considered the most powerful type of academic learning, by engaging in data projects and mentoring other students in the Data Lab. This type of engagement will expand their data science skills and broaden their understanding that proficiency in data analysis and data-driven decision making are critical skills for everyone. Data Lab offers online materials for self-directed learning and daily help sessions in the lab with our teaching staff. These are both geared towards R assignments for MGSC 291.
